Scaled Scores / Number of Questions Missed
After approximately a 14 year hiatus, I decided once again to take the ARE and finish what I had originally set out to do. I studied, used the Amberbook (totally loved this resource) but failed 4 out of the 6 divisions that I took in a 3-4 week period (2 exams per week).
I did see the cut score of 550 listed as the minimum threshold to pass on each of my reports. My scaled scores on my fail reports were: 490, 513, 513 and 498.
Is there anyway to know how or what those values equal to in the numbers of questions missed?

There is no way to see exactly how many questions you missed because there is a pass range and it is different for each exam. That being said, at one point I found a calculator online that someone made in excel that would give you a estimate number. I believe I googled ‘NCARB ARE scaled score calculator’ to find it. For reference, I believe it said I failed by about 2.4 questions and my scaled score was 525.
