Glass and bad things (for charity!) : Zoom study session
Thursday’s 6pm ET Zoom study session is titled, “Glass and bad things (for charity!)” You’ll take the first five minutes of class to answer the question alone, but if you would like to get a head-start on that, here is the assignment.
An electric car company has hired an architect to design car showrooms throughout the country. Rather than vast suburban lots with acres of cars for sale on-premises, the company will offer smaller glass-filled, transparent urban showrooms with just two cars for test driving (and purchased cars will be delivered to the buyer at a later time). From the list below, select the best number to address the glass performance for the showroom, balancing performance, cost, and code requirements. A glass type may be used more than once or a glass type may not be used at all.
Double glass (IGUs): laminated glass outside and float glass inside, separated by an airspace
Ceramic glass
Float glass
Laminated glass
Tempered glass
Wired glass
_______ in skylights
_______ to keep out ambulance noise in a cold climate
_______ in Hurricane Ian’s path
_______ for indoor office walls, overlooking the showroom, with glass that extends down to 6 inches above the floor
_______ in fire-rated egress stairways
Please don’t post your answer.
We’ve been approached before, but we don’t accept advertisers. . . we do, however, love charity donations! A charity sponsor has offered to donate $5,000 to a charity of your choice (the Amber Hive will decide the recipient). And if we get a certain number of people to join tonight they will donate $10,000. . . so if you are on the fence, show up Thursday at 6ET and help someone in need. We donated $28,000+ just in 2022 so far.
The Zoom study session will take place at 6pm ET Thursdays in our Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83922907346
