PPD Wall Type Diagram
Can anyone help me understand what study material to look into to find the acoustic implications of various wall heights?
The ARE Guide example notes that the below diagram is adapted from Architectural Graphic Standards, but I do not see any chapter that connects wall height and acoustical performance... I am trying not to miss any important chapters from any study materials, but apparently I am missing a huge chunk...!!
Please help!

A basic rule of thumb is partial height walls will let sound passes from one room to another, and any opening in walls will do the same. To have good sound insulation, you need to have full-height wall to the underside of the structure, and seal off any openings in walls. Adding batt or rigid insulation to the walls will help greatly too.
