Logging 2x Hours for NCARB certification
I am currently undertaking the Alternate route for NCARB Certification and finding that Its a bit odd trying to log 2x AXP hours once you're licensed. You can still log the hours, but everything just says "0 hours Remaining" if you already have finished the required AXP to get initial licensure.
Is this how others typically see the hours logged on their end, or is this just a hiccup on mine? If this is typical of all, can NCARB somehow reset the hour totals for those trying to log 2x hours?
Thanks,
James Martzahl, AIA, CDT

I just finished that route. Under the education tab on my record it indicated how many months I had left for registration, and how many hours in each category were remaining to achieve the 2x.
In order to get that under the education tab I had to email the Alternate Education department and they added the information to that tab.

Hi James,
If you have not yet requested a review of your transcripts, please contact us at educationalternative@ncarb.org once you have official transcripts in your NCARB Record and after becoming licensed in a US jurisdiction.
Once an architect is determined to be eligible for NCARB Certification through the education alternative of 2xAXP, they will be able to see their progress towards completing the additional AXP hour requirements under their education tab in their NCARB Record.
Please keep in mind that once we have received an email to be evaluated for 2xAXP, it can take up to 30 business days to complete the transcript review, depending upon volumes.

I have applied for Education Alternative evaluation and I already have 18,000 hours of AXP logged and I have not heard anything form the alternative Education department for over two months. The first automated response said 30 business days (long past that now). I sent a follow up email and they now say it will take up to 60 business days! based on my original request (July 19th, 2022) they will not get back to me until mid-October! I have been a dues paying member for over 15 years, and this is horrible service.

I did get an email August 1st from Ron Davis saying that my education is not accepted because It is a non-accredited degree, which was the entire point of trying to get the Alternative Education through double (I have more than quadruple) AXP. It also shows the issue as "solved" under my Eiffel Evaluation page. I am pretty sure that they have dropped trying to help me, but customer service tells me otherwise and to continue waiting.
