How does your firm provide support for those who are studying and testing?
I would like to know how other firms support their employees during their testing journey.
My current employer (36 employees) provides:
- 6 half days of PTO for taking exams
- Reimburse 50% of the cost of each passed exam
- We also have an internal library of physical books like the Architect's Handbook for Professional Practice, Ballast, Brightwood, Building Codes Illustrated, Building Construction Illustrated, etc available for anyone to use.
- There is an additional bonus for those who get licensed within 3, 4, and 5 years of graduation.
How big is your firm and what support do they provide?

Hi Abigael,
My current employer is a bit smaller (around 22 employees at the location where I work) so the support is smaller as a result. We get 100% reimbursed for each passed exam, and digital copies of study guides such as AEP and Ballast. A coworker also set up a GoTo meeting so that we can do a virtual study group with the 2nd location as well.
I think it's awesome that your office has great incentives for those on the licensure path and that your office has a physical internal library of resources! It really helps to have support from your employer because the tests take a lot of time and effort.
