Have you heard of the Pomodoro method?  You should look into that.  It's very helpful.  And do not stress about Amber's proposed schedule--do what you can each day.  3 hours a day on top of having a full time job is TOUGH.  Try to do what you can...before work, your lunch break, after work.  It all adds up!

I agree with Katie in trying the Pomodoro method. My partner has ADHD combined and he found the Pomodoro helpful for when he was studying for PcM. The way Pomodoro is set up helped him hyper-focused and he was able to get through all the dry reading materials. I think trying that will also help you get down the 3 hours or at least most of that time frame. Best of luck!

I feel your pain.  I have limited attention span.

I totally agree with the comments about "study what you can when you are focused" and "dont feel bad about not sticking to someone else's schedule".

Set a realistic goal for yourself and tell your friends you have the goal and check in with your goal periodically and see how you are doing.

My partner Ben used Active Recall, where he would just pull a subject from his stack of flashcards and think to himself about everything he knew about that subject - like stream of consciousness - and this feels less like studying and meanwhile helps to form neural pathways that establish connections between words and information - on your time.  while you are waiting in line for dinner, or walking down the street.  etc.

    Love the active recall method!!

Okay, I have now passed FOUR EXAMS!!

    Here's my lessons learned:

    1.  Every brain is different, mine relies heavily on reward. Setting realllly small, manageable goals snowballs quickly into productive days

    2. Harness momentum when you have it, have grace with yourself when you don't

    3. Amber book was WONDERFUL for me, because on day's I wasn't focused enough to write out notes or read something dry, I would just set the goal to "watch one video, (which often turned into several) and write the video subjects down as I go"

    4. Make it interesting, find out how the subject applies in real life, and keep an eye out for it once you know what to look for!
