Soft Story vs. Weak Story

Hello! I am a bit confused what the difference is between a soft story vs a weak story in regards to siesmic principles. Can anyone help me with this?

  I think the only difference is that a soft story is weaker than the other stories above.  A weak story could be anywhere.
