Hi All, Curious if anyone else has a similar issue. The requirements for online testing state that docks are not allowed and only extenders and such for USB components are able to be used. However my old laptop died and the new one I have only has 3 USBC ports and no Ethernet port. Does anyone know if it is allowed to get a hub/extender that has USB ports and an Ethernet port so I can hardwire machine per the no wifi requirement? I am hoping others have run into this given modern laptops give minimal ports and then dongels and hubs are required for external components. Thanks!

  The setup requirements are on Pg 26 of the current Guidelines - https://www.ncarb.org/sites/default/files/ARE-5-Guidelines.pdf
  
  It looks like usb-only dongles are the only acceptable ones.  An ethernet connection is required because your phone 2nd camera has to use the wifi connection.
  
  When I used online proctoring I ran into a similar not-enough-ports issue and ended up pulling an old desktop out of the office closet and setting it up - you might ask your office or a friend if they have an older laptop or desktop you could borrow for a couple of days to use for the test.  Note that if your laptop has a touchscreen that adds to the peripherals you'll need to set up, too.
  
  Do be sure you complete a test run before taking an online-proctored exam regardless - it's a critical step, and I wouldn't schedule a remote exam without being sure I could complete the test run first.
