online proctoring technology requirement question

I have a 17" laptop that meets all the other requirements other than the 19" minimum monitor screen. Is it vital that to use a 19" or is that just preferred?

  I have an external monitor I usually connect to my laptop but when I read the guidelines, it's my understanding that if the laptop is connected to the monitor, it must remain closed. Leaving me with the question, how do I use the keyboard on my laptop if the laptop is closed.

  the 19" screen is preferred, not required. 
  
  From what I understand about the current rules for remote proctoring, if your laptop has a touchscreen, you'll have to close it and use an external monitor, keyboard, mouse, and camera.  If you use your laptop open with its native screen, you can use the built-in monitor, keyboard, mouse, and camera. (but definitely get an external mouse at least).  
  
  Personally, I would go to a little bit of effort to get a bigger screen - detail drawings especially on PPD, PDD, and CE really benefit from it.

  staceydewitt If you haven't already done so, I'd definitely recommend that you schedule a free test run with PSI! It's helpful (and also a nice peace of mind) to ensure that your remote set up meets the testing requirements well ahead of test day.
