I think it is a great book and absolutely a must for PA but if you passed PA and now studying for PPD, I would recommend reading Heating, Cooling and Lighting book. It covers most of SWL but with a better structure and language. Besides it goes deeper into some systems (mostly passive but some active too) which will be more useful for PPD questions. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

Do you have any thoughts on the Site Planning and Design Handbook as well?

    What a nice coincidence!
SPDH is also a great book for the PA exam. You need to focus more on the systems and integration for PPD. So check out MEEB, AGS and HCL. You can find all of my recommendations for the PPD exam on my blog. Can’t post the link but just visit the site and you will find it under the blog posts. Hope it helps! Best of luck!

I definitely think there are some PPD and PA topics in Sun, Wind and Light.  I wouldn't read the whole book. I have an older copy from college, and I'd recommend reading Part 2 Design Strategies.  And review and learn how to read the charts in the book.

My fav resource for PPD is ASC.  And it's a much easier read!

And SPDH is a good resource for PA.  The design for security and sound were new topics for me.  And I'd recommend reading all the chapters about topics you aren't familiar with.

    GL and keep studying!
