Objective 4.2 Clarification
One of the updates to the ARE guidelines for PcM was Objective 4.2. Can someone be kind enough to interpret what it means? Or maybe simplify it?
- 4.2: Identify and compare processes, policies, and resources used in the design, coordination, and documentation of different project types. You must also be able to examine the various ways a firm completes a project. This may include practice-wide policies that guide a firm's design principles, standard processes for project documentation, and resources for coordinating project components.

This is mainly focusing on how a firm works as a business in order to achieve its goals. Is it registerd as LLP, LLC, PC, S-corp? What criteria or limitations are presented that can determine the most appropriate business structure? What about how the firm checks work, QA/QC processes, standardization of drawing sets? Are they working with evidence-based design, phasing, etc? It's about the function of the firm as a business and as a practice, and how decisions and processes in place assist to keep the firm in business and succeed.
