2010 ADA standards vs 2017 ANSI 117.1

    What I've read when studying is that the 2017 ANSI code is for new builds. So if the question states that it is to be a new building then you use that 2017 ANSI code.

    Which is the more restrictive? Always follow that if the two are given as choices. You will quickly find that when more cities adopt IBC 2018, 2021, and 2024 more, you will be using 2017 ANSI. Remember 2010 ADA is law at minimum, but ANSI is an adoption to help get there and may be more restrictive. We live in a time where codes and requirements are quickly shifting.
