Not seeing provisional feedback? "End Session" vs "End Exam"
After having the frustrating experience of not being able to view my provisional feedback twice, I think I've figured out what went wrong.
There are two buttons you can use to end your exam in the PSI software. One is prominently located in the top bar and says "End Session". This is the one that your proctor will tell you to use at the end of your exam. Do not use the End Session button. Navigate to the Exam Summary page and at the bottom left there is a red button that says "End Exam." Click this to be shown your provisional feedback page, then you can use the End Session button to close out of the PSI software.
I didn't have an issue viewing provisional feedback until PSI began requesting testers to notify their proctor via chat when they are ready to end the exam. This change means that the top bar with the "End Session" button has just been opened by the tester, because this is where you access the chat from. The proctor also writes "Please use the End Session button to end your exam," which shuts down the program entirely and does not show provisional feedback. NCARB needs to revise their communication via PSI and inform test takers of this trap. Their post on how to view feedback does not make this clear.
TL;DR: Make sure you use the red "End Exam" button, then use the gray "End Session" button to close out the software. Hope this helps someone who has encountered the same thing.

Thank you, Jrennert.
If I mistakenly pressed the “End Session” button, even though the proctor had noted at the beginning that I should notify them, will this cause any issues with my exam or affect my ability to receive the exam result?
Thank you for your help and clarification.
Best regards,

Hi Yuzheng,
It shouldn't at all - the software should take care of it all on the back end, and you should see a score report pop up within the usual timeframe. Most people see their score reports there first, usually 5 business days after they tested, the Guidelines state 7-10 calendar days. If you haven't seen your score report show up in your MyNCARB account on the 11th day after testing, definitely reach out to NCARB.
Best,
