Frustrating experience with PSI
Hi everyone,
I wanted to share my poor experience with PSI in case it helps others or brings attention to ongoing issues with their testing centers.
I was scheduled to take my Practice Management (PcM) exam at a PSI testing center. When I arrived, there were no staff members present. I called the testing center multiple times but got no answer, and other test takers waiting outside also couldn’t reach anyone.
Eventually, maintenance staff in the building told us that the building was having Wi-Fi issues and that the PSI staff had left for the day until it was resolved. There was no email or notice from PSI about any closures or schedule changes.
I also called PSI customer service, but they couldn’t do much besides suggesting I try calling the testing center again tomorrow. When I reached out to the testing center the next day, they didn’t offer much help and just told me to contact NCARB directly.
I reached out to NCARB regarding a refund of my exam seat or the ability to reschedule since the cancellation was completely beyond my control. They said they would get back to me after contacting the PSI center to confirm what happened, so for now I’m kind of stuck in limbo waiting for an update.
It’s honestly really frustrating to take time out of your schedule/miss work, mentally prepare, and pay $257 for an exam only for it to be canceled without any notice or communication. The lack of professionalism from PSI in not communicating with candidates or providing any updates is really disappointing.
Hopefully NCARB is able to work with PSI to improve communication and accountability so future candidates don’t experience this kind of situation.
