Paper and Pencil Request

I just took an ARE exam and learned at the test center that I was not allowed paper and pencil to work out math or sketching problems. Entirely my fault for not being aware of the new procedures so I am not complaining. The testing center mentioned I would have to ask for 'special testing accommodations' in order to get a paper and pencil in the future. 

Does anyone know how to go about scheduling an exam online and then getting special accommodations to get the pencil and paper?

  David,

  My strong guess would be that you need to contact NCARB Customer Service with a request like that so, if it's valid, they could pre-approve you and put such a note on your record.  That way Prometric would see it when they look you up and could verify that you're allowed that type of request.
