Troubles with Prometric - Exam Cancellation due to technical issues.
Nick & Jared,
I have had a bit of difficulty being able to take my PcM exam. I live in southern Louisiana. We were hit by Hurricane Delta in early October. Prometric and NCARB were really great about helping reschedule a test that was planned during this period. I had to reschedule this test due to the storm for November 5, 2020.
I left Lafayette to travel to Baton Rouge at about 5:30 am. This drive takes about an hour and a half. When I arrived at Prometric in Baton Rouge, there was a sign on the door stating "Due to technical issues, Prometric is closed today'. When I was there I knocked on the door and a very nice gentlemen explained that at 6:30 the night before that had to make a decision to close the testing center and email was sent out to all the candidates. I did not check my email the morning of the test due to not wanting any distractions before the test. I also noticed that the email was sent to me a 3:30 am which was a mild irritation.
The same gentlemen explained that after 5-10 days I would be able to reschedule my exam. He requested that I call NCARB and explain the situation to have a record filed and I did. It has been 7 business days since. I have called Prometric twice and was on hold for over an hour each time and was not able to speak to anyone. My fear at this moment is by the time I get to reschedule my exam, the wait time will be a month out.
I am aware it is not the tenth day, but I have heard nothing in the form of correspondence from NCARB or Prometric and as of now my NACARB record has a "fail" status for my PCM exam which prohibits me from rescheduling at the moment. I am just reaching out to this community to hopefully find a resolution in the form of information.
Thanks,
Todd St. Julien
