fastest, most efficient way to study and pass? Amber Book! I am proof!
The most stressful part of studying for and taking the AREs is knowing WHAT material to study and devising a plan for HOW to study that material in a way that results in true understanding. Amber Book did this for me.
One could waste countless hours reading other people's plans/advice and waste a lot of money on a whole library of books and resources and be left dreading the unending hours of reading, writing flashcards, and memorization, ultimately putting off one's pursuit of licensure.
OR, one could trust the Amber Book's course and science-backed approach to studying that incorporates video lessons, interactive Q&A, and notes to review before the big day.
Boy am I glad that I did just that!
Is it expensive? Yes [but discounts are available, look around. join a group for the group discount!] If you stick to a schedule, there's no need to subscribe for more than a couple of months.
Is it worth it? Absolutely!!!
Could I have passed the AREs on my own? Probably. But I know it would have taken a lot more time and effort.
I was skeptical at the approach of treating the 6 tests like one big long exam until I took my 2nd test and realized how much overlap there really is. Now I cannot imagine spending months on end to study for ONE exam, then starting the whole process over, again and again, x6!
I enjoyed the video format with breaks for answering questions. It felt like Sesame Street for grown-ups, and I definitely talked back to the screen every day, haha. But it worked! Not only did I pass all 6 exams on the first try, but the concepts that I learned have stuck with me in a way that just reading/writing flashcards does not.
[full disclosure, I also used Karin's notes [PDF available here]. I printed them out and added color/notes to them as I studied with Amber Book, and took notes in a notebook. I also used the NCARB practice exam to familiarize myself with how the test is laid out and how to access formulas, etc. Plus my real-life work experience helped me, especially with CE. But Amber Book streamlined and focussed my study time and was worth every penny!]

Congratulations on passing all the exams!
"I enjoyed the video format with breaks for answering questions. It felt like Sesame Street for grown-ups" I thought the same thing :-)
This is more proof in life that when you pay for something you take it more seriously than casually.
