Identifying CAD Lineweights when Colorblind
AnsweredHi,
I am primarily using black spectacles to study, and in the practice tests I have come across questions in which we are asked to identify the correct color that corresponds to a lineweight. The questions are really simple, but I have gotten them wrong both times because I am colorblind. Are these types of questions on the actual exam?

Hey Thomas,
Diagrams, photos, drawings, and other graphics on the ARE might contain color, but a question will never require you to identify a specific color to answer a question correctly.
Hope this helps!

Thomas - no I do not believe you will encounter anything like this on the exam, and I'm trying to remember if ANY of the questions I had on the ARE involved colors and I 90% recall it all being black and white. Even questions that involved photographs, I think I remember those being black and white too. Been a while since I tested. Maybe NCARB can chime in here, it's a good question.

I would like to discourage you from asking people what types of questions are on the exams, especially around content. This is a private question for NCARB. There is no reason for anyone to disclose anything about the questions they've ever seen on an exam, under any circumstance.
