Studying Fundamentals of building Construction book
Hello, all
I am a first taker of PPD and worried about studying this book, fundamentals of building construction, which is over 500 pages.
Experienced takers, how did you study to take this PPD exam?
Please, help out.

I read that book when I was studying for PPD, in addition to a lot of other books I read cover to cover to pass PPD and PDD and believe me a 500 pages book was unfortunately one of the "easy" readings that I had to do. I highly suggest reading Heating Cooling Lighting, Simplified Engineering for Architects and MEEB to pass PPD. I wrote a couple posts where I mention construction fundamentals sections to study. I think they were the structural systems and skin systems. I recall needing that material for cm ppd and pdd. When I get back to a laptop I’ll check my notes. It’s a good book to cover regardless as it’s still on my bookshelf and I reference it often.

I like FBC since my prof at Berkeley really pushed it. Knowing these chapters really helps with PPD and PDD esp when studying MEEB for cross reference material and Ching building codes illustrated and building construction illustrated

Fundamentals of Building Construction Sixth Edition, Allen and Iano Chapters 2, 6, 13, 16, 19, and 20. I find that these sections are best to be read and outlined during your PJM test and then really read closely for the CE exam.
