Ballast Example 5-2 - answer???

Ballast Example 5-2 (page 5-13) asks for standard elements of Contract Documents.  It lists:

A. Addendum

B. Change ORder

C. Contractor's Bid

D. Program

E. Special Supplementary Conditions

F. Written amendment signed by owner and contractor

 

It says the answer is A, B, E, F

However, I have never thought that a change order is part of contract documents because  change orders happen after the contract has been signed  So I assume this is a mistake...?

  I see I am wrong.  A CO is included in modifications.  Thanks!

  Inda,

  A good thing to remember is that the Contract Documents don't "end" at the signing of the contract.  Think about this: what if a job is design-build and the construction contract is signed at day one of the project?  That could be the case in some instances, not all.  

  Changes to the drawings (Addenda and Bulletins) are part of the Contract Documents, which is why CO's are included as well.  Don't let the word "Contract" in "Contract Documents" throw you off.  Hope that helps.
