Do I really need the newest editions?
I have Architect's Studio Companion 4th Edition (2007) and Building Construction Illustrated 3rd Edition (2001), purchased during my undergrad education back in 05-09. Do I really need the newest editions to study for PPD and the other exams that reference these books?
Thanks,

No, you do not need the latest editions of these items. I used mine (from 00-05!) and have been fine. The only items that are critical to be current would be the Building Code information you study, whether from the actual IBC, or from Building Codes Illustrated. Currently, NCARB is testing on the 2015 IBC.

@Joseph I think for MEEB and similar books, you'd want a more current edition. MEEB 12 goes into sustainability and systems that might be more advanced than in 1993. You can rent it from Amazon, and other sources. There are also e-book versions, but that makes it a little bit harder to flip through.
