New Option for Paying & Scheduling Exams
Big news!
Starting today, you'll see a new button in the Exams tab of your NCARB Record.

Candidates can now purchase as many as six seat credits at a time (up to the maximum number of test eligibilities in the candidate's record), and the credits will be available for a full year from date of purchase. You can buy now, then schedule when you’re ready to test.
As a reminder, on October 1, 2018, the fee per division of the ARE will increase from $210 to $235. With this new feature, you can purchase seat credits at the lower $210 fee and save them for future use, even after the fee increase!
As always, reach out to NCARB customer service at 202-879-0520 or customerservice@ncarb.org with questions on the exam bundling feature or any other exam-related topics.

Are credits bought individually for every exam? translating this, am i saying i am paying per exam ,for ex- if i buy 2 credits per exam - that will cost me today- 2x210? What if i dont need the second credit for that particular exam and i pass in one attempt? can i use that for another exam or am i locking in per subject? Can you please elaborate how this works? thank you!

Deepa,
I see these as 'tickets'. 1 ticket per exam 'attempt', does not matter which exam you take. So if you purchase 2 seats today you can, for example, take same exam twice in case of a failed attempt (hopefully not), viz. PcM-PcM, or two different exams PcM-PjM. I have passed 3 exams and had scheduled 1 last week, so I could purchase a max of 2 seats for now. If I fail, only then I will be able to buy more seats.
Hope this clarifies.

Deepa,
Naman is correct, this feature allows you to buy multiple "seats" (literally, a seat at a Prometric test center) that you can use for any division. The seat credits will be available in your Record until you're ready to schedule. If you buy two seats, you could schedule just one division and hold onto the other seat, then decide what to use that second seat for after you get your results on the first division. Make sense? The only limitation is that you have to use the seat credits - i.e. schedule the tests - within a year of purchase.

Katie,
You can buy as many seats as you have open eligibilities. If you have two tests left, then the system will allow you to buy one or two seat credits. Unused credits will not be refunded - that policy has not changed. The credits can be used for any division, for a first attempt or a retake.
