AIA Contract Document Availability during the Practice Management Exam
Will the A201, B101, and C401 contracts be available for reference during the Practice Management exam?
-
Contracts will definitely be included in one of the case studies. Which contracts you get would be varied and you probably wouldn't get all 3. Aside from case studies, you won't have time during the exam to reference a contract for standalone questions. You need to memorize the main themes of the contracts.

I took PcM recently. I found that it was pretty reasonable--you have to understand what everyone's responsibilities are, according to the contracts. You have to understand things like how communication flows through the different parties. (that might be more for PjM, though)
Michael Hanahan's lectures are extremely helpful and seemed to cover things at about the right level of detail. It's a good idea to take the NCARB practice exam early in your studying. You won't know everything, but it will help you see the level of detail you need to think about.
You DON'T have to memorize things like all the details of hiring a mediator. You DO need to understand, for example, that the contracts say you agree to mediation before going to a binding method of dispute resolution.
Definitely memorize the list of the kinds of insurance you need!

If you want to save one on your phone, right-click the Audio File link and choose "Save Link As..." Then you get an mp3 file that you can transfer to your phone. (If you don't know how to do that, you can google it.)

Carson,
Know that if you click on Michael Hanahan at right in that link, it'll take you to his page, the "Insights" tab on his page has the complete lectures from 2025 and 2024 - I'm not aware of any critical difference/updates in the underlying info for the ARE in that time.Best,

Ralph ~ Appreciate your directive from above; however, once I got onto Michael's website, only thing I was able to do was search: "ARE Professional Practice", and it ONLY had the exact same (3) audio links to which brought me to this post/page. Thus, if you know something more than I, please share the link, please. TY!

Dropping a link to the Complete Lectures from 2025 as Ralph mentioned above. You can find the audio and presentation files available for all 13 Lectures.

BOOM, thanks Bryan, this is exactly what I was seeking. I also remember downloading these files in 2018 or so, and Mr. Michael J. Hanahan is correct when he says: "I've been teaching these for a long time", because #1 & 2 lectures are very very similar in content to those almost 8-years back. Much appreciate you guys, thank you!
