When to take CE?

It's more efficient to line up CE with PJM/PCM vs waiting to get through the technical exams and then take CE. There is some detailed drawing information on CE but it's more focused around the conditions of the A201/AIA contracts, project delivery methods, and making sense of the CDs that are being built. You won't need to know a lot of technical information but should be able to understand the drawings in relation to construction.

A lot of the contract info you read in PCM/PJM is also relevant in CE and it makes sense to line those up together than waiting to take it. Building code will also be relevant and a quick overview of clearances, egress, etc will help to prepare for CE. Good luck!

So I failed my PJM, and wondering if I should start studying for CE instead of waiting 2 months for PJM? any advice?

I'm sorry to hear about your PjM result Architect_inprocess. I agree that switching gears to CE is a great next step! Like abruno168 mentioned, there is some technical content in CE but it definitely overlaps more with the contracts and professional practice knowledge you've already been studying. Diving into CE will build upon your PjM studies and could definitely help you get that PjM pass as well once you circle back. It's all related, and it's important to keep pushing forward, enhancing the content you've already mastered.

Either way, you should definitely schedule your PjM retake as soon as you are able to, as there is a chance you got unlucky with a difficult set of questions and will have better luck on the next round. You don't want to lose the momentum and PjM knowledge base while you have it!

Best of luck! You got this!
