Oh! Because WALL 4 is opposite of the wall mounted speakers?  OK, now that makes sense. Thank you!

neadagolban If you have Francis Ching's "A Visual Dictionary of Architecture" handy, there's a great section on sound with terminology/diagrams as it relates to design.

This resource, in general, helped me understand and visualize concepts that were otherwise very confusing.

    Happy studying!

The primary answer explanation: Wall C is the longest wall, and the more sound-absorbing curtain surface you introduce, the less reverberance there will be in the room.

Secondary reasons: no window, door, or speakers to block on Wall C.

Personally I think is that the simplest way to explain is the following. You are asked to MINIMIZE(Closest to 0) the reverberance time using only one wall. The wall that one will MINIMZE the RT is the one with the BIGGEST AREA. There are other secondary reasons why that wall is good but don't response any part of the question, i think the speakers only helps to confirm the answer, but I don't think reverberations is affected to much by the speakers location (if the speakers would be in the other position probably will choose the same wall since is a small room). I think that the think that affect our process of thinking and confuse people is that as designer we try to justify to put the Mirrors in the biggest wall, but the client haven't ask that.

mermann is on point. And I agree with kkgalicinao. Ching's A Visual Dictionary of Architecture is a very good resource for the ARE prep.
