I Chose B,C & D. I would like to know what an Instructional System is... I can not find a proper definition.

I interpreted an Instructional System to be a "detail" which you would then "Reference" when the detail call out is marked in the plans.

Working in Context (AHPP p.674), Reduction of Redundancy (AHPP p.673), Referencing Systems (AHPP p.675), and Instructional Systems and Default Scheduling (AHPP p.677) —
I believe the test maker is referring to methodologies in construction drawings.
I really wish NCARB would include reference pages with the answer explanations!

Thanks for referencing them ayanohosoda. I believe part of the reason it's easy to miss this type of information in AHPP is that people often read only the selected/highlighted sections and assume it will be enough for PJM, PCM, and CE. In reality, these exams cover a much broader portion of the book. If you're studying for these exams and reading this post, I recommend taking a closer look at AHPP and reading more than the charts. It is one book for three exams, plus a few questions on PDD, so not a bad deal if you ask me. Besides, it will teach you a lot of great and valuable information for your practice.

An instructional system for construction documents is better than a referencing system because

instructional system is a more intuitive and direct method of communication. (Instead of the referencing system) which of forcing contractors to jump between numerous sheets, an instructional approach graphically coaches them on standard conditions and then uses notes to identify only the exceptions. This approach is more efficient and minimizes errors.
