This week's (briefer than usual) Zoom study session will explore how much additional salary you'll earn after licensure. 

How much more, as a percentage, does your firm charge its client for an hour of a licensed architect's time (vs an unlicensed architect's hour)?

How much of a bump in salary does your firm give to employees once they get licensed (If any bump at all)?

Is a bump in salary after licensure a matter of policy or a matter of individual negotiation?

  Of course you can easily expect a raise and/or promotion with a new title for getting licensed.  I think a 15% increase in salary would be expected.  You don't need to buy a course to figure this out.  

  The AIA compensation calculator is available here:  https://info.aia.org/salary/salary.aspx

  A level II associate, unlicensed earns an average of $75k/yr.

  A level II associate, LICENSED earns an average of $86k/yr.

  This is the 15% I estimated...

  Over the course of 20 yrs obviously the salary increase and potential promotions would add up.
