Cut Score Timeline

This question is for someone at NCARB. Are alternative methods of generating a fair cut score being considered due to the lack of testers? What are the chances it could be months before there are 400 testers for some of the divisions; will you continue to hold scores? I've spoken with a few candidates that are intentionally waiting until scores are set before they resume testing. Others had a terrible experience on their first online exam and are waiting to know if they should continue studying to retake that division before taking a new one and therefore pushing other divisions back. As the number of candidates frustrated with the new online proctoring grows I can only wonder if the numbers are going to continue to shrink.

on your NCARB record does it show you have taken the test? On my record, it still shows the "exam scheduled" scheduled online. and has no information about score pending or anything like that

Glen, my record shows "awaiting score". It should have updated around 24hrs after your scheduled exam.

I had the same question - it's been almost a month since I took CE and am still waiting for the cut score. Agreed it makes it difficult for knowing whether to begin studying for a different exam or to wait for my score back. That is on top of the issues I had with the exam at the testing center (seem to be such a massive array of issues with the new version, and taking it at the test center did not help resolve them which I had hoped for).

Do we know if they will wait for all 6 exams to be scored or if they will do them by exam as they come in?

I received an email stating that cut scores will be released early- February. However I received another email that stated, PcM, PPD testers should receive scores soon. PjM, PA, PDD will be next and CE will be the last to receive scores.

Glad to know I’m not the only one wondering about this. Can someone from NCARB provide an official update?

The website still says mid-January, and we’re sort of nearing the end of that.

NCARB sent an email today saying they have cut scores for all divisions. Does anyone know when our portal records will be updated? My exam of 2 January still says "awaiting score".

I took an exam on Dec 14th. My NCARB record also still shows 'awaiting score'.
