Online Proctoring experience
Hi everyone
I just took the online proctoring exam. I have to say that the experience was very pleasant, as a Foreign Architect I have been expecting this, since in my country the exam wasn't available in person.
I have been reading in this community many problems with connection or the exam crashing. My exam ran very smoothly, I advise connecting you computer directly to the router via ethernet cable.
On the other hand, only a few questions had the change from 4 to 3 multiple choice.
The only down side was the WHITE BOARD, my exam had many calculation questions and the white board was very slow and lagging, every tool of the board was impossible to use. Had to do most calculations by memory or with the little that It would let me write or draw. In the practice exam ran very well, in the actual exam you could draw a few lines and after that too slow to use and wouldn't read the drag of the mouse. NCARB needs to work on this, or limit the questions regarding calculations.
The PDF, please add palm tool. When reading floor plans and zooming in, the PDF has a limit scrolling on the right side of the screen, so you cant fully see that area of the drawing.
Other than that, everything ran smoothly and fast. Also don't be too scare about the crazy schedules. Mine was from 12am to 4am, on the positive side is a very quiet time, and you don't have to worry about other people in your house using the internet or background noises.
Hope this helps.

Hi Anny,
This thread helps quite a bit with my anxiety, thanks for sharing your experience.
I was wondering how you were connected to the internet. I see that some suggested to connect through an ethernet cable. Others suggest that it's a system issue. Please share what your strategy was for a smooth testing experience. Thanks!
Hope you passed your exam!

Hi Jenn
Thank you!
My connection was through ethernet cable. Tests your connection with the cable for a couple of days, just to make sure the cable is functioning well. Also if you live with other people ask them not to use the internet.
I had no problems with proctor app. But the exam does have some software issues, the only one I experienced was with the Digital White Board.
Good luck on you exam
