Decoding the Code: Construction Types Zoom Study session
Thursday’s 6pm ET Zoom study session is titled, “Decoding the Code: Construction Types” hosted by Kevin Jones, AIA and professor of Architecture at Virginia Tech. You’ll take the first five minutes of class to answer the question alone, but if you would like to get a head-start on that, here is the assignment.
An owner has hired an architect to execute a feasibility study for a four-story hotel. The building code may not allow a hotel that tall. In order to build a hotel that tall, the architect might suggest _______. Select the 2 best answers.
Adding a sprinkler system
Changing the city’s zoning code
Changing the construction type
Changing the occupancy type
Reducing the floor area of the hotel
Swapping one-hour-rated walls with two- or three-hour-rated walls
Please don’t post your answer.
The Zoom study session will take place at 6pm ET Thursdays in our Zoom link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83922907346
