Practice Exam, Interference with Egress Path

    Residential occupancies generally do not require panic hardware, unless there is an educational, assembly, or high hazard area serving an occupant load of >50 inside the building.

    I am far from a code expert, so somebody please correct me if there is more nuance to the question.

  • This door is in the egress path of a 20-story residential project. A panic bar is expected for this kind of project. If it is in the egress path of a single-family home, it may be a different story.
