Practice Exam, Interference with Egress Path
Hello,
I am confused by the answer to this question on the NCARB practice exam. It asks you to identify things that are in the way of the path of egress. It does make sense that that the trashcans are in the way - but it also seems like not having a panic bar on the egress door also interferes with the path of egress...Can someone help me reason through this?
thank you

This door is in the egress path of a 20-story residential project. A panic bar is expected for this kind of project. If it is in the egress path of a single-family home, it may be a different story.
