Solar Altitude Angle
Can someone please explain the solar altitude angle calculation. A question came up on the NCARB practice test with a formula of Tan(24) = 9/x. The answer is 20 . It states 9/ (tan(24))=20.21 ( rounded to 20 feet)

Hi. I was struggling with this question but actually is pretty straightforward.
You just have to go back to trigonometry. 🤓. You have the angle, the height (opposite side), you are figuring out the adjacent side.
See videos below for better explanation.Same applies everytime you get a triangle and you need to get one of the values.
