    Hi Sangwon,
    The Holeless Hydraulic elevators have a cylinder that is more telescopic, so it doesn't get installed very deep in-ground,  I doubt the elevator itself is cheaper, but it's used where the soil (or rock!) conditions make it difficult to drill into or in a retrofit application.  It's height is more limited than a typical hydraulic elev too, just 40'. Rise Above Elevator's website has some good info.  Annoyingly, this forum isn't letting me post any links right now. :(
