Nadia! I was commenting on your other PPD post - I just want to say I came upon this post right before my PA exam yesterday and this helped me greatly!! Good luck to you as well, we are almost done!

Thank you Lauren! I test on Monday for PPD and I’m cramming this weekend. I got an 87 on the NCARB practice test, 79 on Architect exam prep, but performed dismally on Ballast and Design Hacks so I don’t know what to think. We’ll see…

Good luck hunny!! I failed PPD in July but it was my Hail Mary play fresh off my initial PA fail, I thought “lemme just see what I’m getting into…” I was not prepared. Make SURE to study seismic loads and design techniques, be able to identify parts of mechanical equipment/flow diagrams and passive hearing/cooling techniques. And lastly, vertical transport! Know elevators and escalators (be able to identify them by style/configuration). I was blown away by the amount of seemingly random information the exams covers but there is a lot of PA overlap, so if you study the right topics you should be golden!! Good luck!!

Also, DONT LISTEN TO BALLAST. The study materials are so annoying: the practice exams are often WRONG (I’ve found multiple errors) and contradictory to the texts they are based on. I have never scored above a 65% on the ballast exams and I ended up passing the real thing after.
