THE PROJECT WORK PLAN
Can someone explain what the work plan is?
(I am not sure if it is a software, a process accounting for a set of tasks required to complete the project, or if it is a document that the PM puts together to organize the project.) I think the AHHP refers to it as a "tool" for project work planning.
- Does anyone have a link to a sample of a work plan online?

Jorge, refer to AHPP 10.1-10.3 regarding project work planning. A work plan is a detailed project schedule, breaking the project down into its component tasks and assigning staff members and other resources to each task. It's one of the earliest and most important tasks for a project manager to complete. Think of it as a tool for developing a fee projection.
The elements of a work plan, in order, are:
- Project description and client requirements
- Statement of deliverables
- Team organization
- Responsibility matrix
- Preliminary project schedule
- Preliminary staffing needs
- Project directory
- Internal project budget and profit plan
- Code information (not always)
Refer to the chapters mentioned above for a detailed breakdown. Hope this helps.
