I took the PDD practice exam from NCARB yesterday. I haven't started studying for the exam yet and wanted to get a feel for the breadth of the material. To my surprise, I found the material very familiar/practical and did well on the exam. However, I also have the Ballast book and practice exams, and the material in their practice exam is MUCH more esoteric to the point that the two exams do not resemble one another at all.
I'm curious for those who have taken the NCARB practice exams and gone on to take the real exam, did you feel that the free practice exam was a realistic representation of the material you encountered in the real thing?
I don't want to waste time/money taking the exam if I'm not prepared, but I would also love to avoid studying the extremely obscure information in the Ballast practice questions if it is not necessary. Thanks in advance!
