Congratulations Wren!! If I didn’t know, I would think that I wrote this post myself and forgot about it:)) This is exactly how I approached my exams (the times I passed). When I opted out for “short cuts and empty promises”, I failed badly. I love how organized and dedicated you were and how you approached it systematically. I congratulate you for studying like this and sharing your experience with the community. Because posts like this encourage a lot of people to study properly and get it done. After I passed my exams and talked to hundreds of people about their ARE journey, I now think that these exams are actually not as hard as we feared before we started the process but that doesn’t mean they don’t require the effort. When one put the adequate hours/work in, there is no reason to be afraid of the exams. I highly recommend everyone to read your post and take notes before starting to study. Congratulations!!!

    Hi Sage,

Thank you so much for sharing your studying strategies and materials!  Which document on the FEMA website can I find Chapter 4 and 5 that you mentioned?

There is so much materials covered in this exam that I'm feeling so overwhelmed and inadequate. It is hard for me to retain so much information in my head!

Good to be reminded to check the local library! Some of these books are so expensive!

    Hi Christina!

Here’s the link to the document (FEMA 454) that I referred to: https://www.wbdg.org/FFC/DHS/fema454.pdf

I understand feeling overwhelmed! Slow and steady, and I cannot overemphasize the importance of practice questions to help you retain information. You got this!
