NY State is exluded from Extended Time Accommodation
Can someone at NCARB explain why the state of NY would not recognize the extended time accommodation for non-native English speakers?

Hi Belle,
New York will only accept an examination given under the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act and will not accept an examination given under non-standard conditions including the use of a word-to-word translation dictionary or extra testing time for applicants who are English as a second language (ESL) readers.
This is a New York State policy that applies to architecture as well as other professions under the State Education Department.
