Workers Compensation Insurance
Hello, I have a question on the workers compensation Insurance.
Ideally, a consultant retained by an architect is not an employee of the architect correct?
So, in
Scenario 1: The architect and his consultant are walking the site and the consultant gets injured - The workers compensation of the Consultants company would kick in, correct?
Scenario 2: The architect and consultant are walking the site and the consultant hurts himself tripping over the architects legs - In this case would the workers compensation of the Architects for a claim against the architects fault? Or would it be Commercial general liability?
PLease let me know,
Thank you!

Hi Yashwitha,
In both those cases, I believe the workers compensation would cover the claim. The architect's general liability insurance would not cover a consultant on the jobsite. Tripping over the architect's legs would be his own fault too.
General liability insurance would cover the consultant's injury if they were at the architect's office for a meeting, and say someone slipped on a coffee spill on the floor, which caused the consultant to slip and fall and injure themselves. That would be a claim for the general liability insurance.
Hope this helps!
