Tips before taking final exam!
I have been studying for the ARE for the past two months for a division that I have taken multiple times. I am planning to take it again later this month and am determined to finally get over the finish line.
During my preparation, I have worked through Amber Book and learned a tremendous amount of concepts that I did not fully understand before, especially relating to building systems, site issues, codes, and construction concepts. While my understanding has improved significantly, I still find myself wondering what separates passing candidates from those who continue to fall just short.
For those who have recently passed, what were the most valuable rules of thumb, quick calculations, memorization techniques, or test-taking strategies that helped you succeed? Were there specific concepts that showed up repeatedly on the exam that you felt deserved extra attention during the final few weeks of studying?
At this point, I am less interested in learning entirely new material and more focused on reinforcing the high-value concepts that are most likely to help me pass. Any advice, lessons learned, or "I wish I knew this before I passed" tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help.
