Passed! 2 exams left!
This was my first attempt at the PA exam, and the stars and planets must be aligned because I passed! I didn't study as much as I usually do and I felt like I lucked out with the questions I received. Not going to complain!
My main two resources were PPI's online quizzes and The Amber Book. I probably could have done without PPI as a resource because I didn't necessarily find it helpful with the my exam questions. But again, I definitely lucked out with what questions I did receive, so PPI may be helpful for others. The Amber Book is definitely helpful and helps you challenge yourself with really understanding concepts.
Onto PPD and PDD!!

Hi Jay,
I actually went through all of the Amber Book before taking the PA exam. I did eliminate anything relating to contracts/PcM/PjM from my run through because I passed those exams before starting Amber Books. Towards the bottom of the Course, there's a "Panic Notes" section that has a chart showing what sections to are most relevant to the exam.
I will admit that I have a decent amount of exposure to systems and constructions, so I know a lot of basic concepts, and that really helped as well. So I suggest that you know basic concepts of systems & construction - the Amber Book course does a great job. So I do highly recommend going through all of the videos and then maybe zero-ing in on relevant PA topics.
Hope that helps! Best of luck with your exam!

Grace, I just finished PcM+PjM+CE, and am contemplating AmberBook for PA+PPD+PDD, just as you've done. How much time did you put in to PA (with AmberBook, primarily) before testing?
I'd like to minimize the number of months of an AmberBook subscription, considering the expense.
Here is my post regarding my concerns. Would really appreciate your opinion!

Hi Matthew,
I read your other post - thankfully, my employer pays for my subscription, so I definitely slacked on going through them. They are lengthy, but honestly, worth it. While it's a significant investment, it will (1) help you gain a better understanding of all the necessary concepts, (2) push you to study and complete the study prompts and tests sooner rather than later. I understand that everyone's financial situation is different, but that's my two cents.
Hope that helps! Best of luck with your studies!! You've got this!!

Thanks Grace - your input is very helpful. Realistically, if I use AB and put all of my attention toward PA, how soon would I be ready to test?
I've already scheduled the exam (3/03), but realize already I need to reschedule it for later in the month. I just need a better idea of when to reschedule for. Thanks!
