PA - which Ballast are people using
Hello, I’ve seen some other posts but I’m still a bit confused.
Which Ballasts are people using? I feel like this is the one material that is a huge hole. For context I’m taking PA next then the PPD/PDD. The other exams I’ve passed. .
ARE Review Manual? Mock Exam? (Someone posted it was not worth it and returning the item for a refund. )Practice Questions?
Also I see they have subscription based tools. I prefer a hard copy but my mind can be changed.
Currently I’m using: Design Hackers, Site Planning And Design Handbook, Earth Wind Sun. Karin Bell notes/diagrams, Marian notes, and a good deal of time on a Mock Exam by an architect in Michigan (?) I just cannot remember his name. Apparently the mick exam is tricky. I also signed up for Elf a while back and need to revisit. Thank you.

I used the Ballast Exam Review Guide book. It's a giant book... I did wind up reading the entire thing too, though the older version was a bit shorter I think. I do recommend it as THE comprehensive guide for all the exams. The PPD content has been updated and expanded in the new version, 2nd edition (yellow). For PA I advise reading the PPD sections that pertain to site and programming topics, in addition to the entire PA section.
However, I think taking PDD next and then PA and PPD last is a better strategy. PDD has a bit higher pass rate than the other 2, and cover cds and structures.
Hope this helps.
