A word of advice from someone who had to take this exam 4 times, keep pushing, you'll eventually pass it. I feel like with most of these exams (especially this one), it comes down to the luck of the draw with the questions and their difficulty.

After my first try I had similar results as you did. Then my second try was a disaster. It seemed like every third question was the type of question where you had to select all the correct multiple choice answers out of the 6 possible answers given. To me, those are the hardest questions to get correct. Anyways, my third try was a little better and then eventually on my fourth try the exam seemed to be a breeze and I passed no problem.

Point being, these exams are daunting and can really wear on you, especially if you have to retake the same exam over and over again. Stay positive and you'll eventually get there.

Don't understand how one can so much lower score, after studying more instead of opposite. And felt  really even more confident in my knowledge than the previous time.   This is how I  am used to think about exams and preparation.

So  I  should rely on luck next time for this exam, apparently...!!

You were clearly SO CLOSE the first time! The second time, you were clearly second-guessing your answers. It is extremely common to do worse the second time taking an exam because of the second-guessing. My advice to you is to move on to your next exam and don't get bogged down by trying to pass this one right now. Remember, that you were so,so close the first time; you obviously know the material!

I have this one coming up in a couple weeks, and it will by my 4th attempt as well. I agree with Andrew regarding luck of the draw. This particular exam is by far the most widespread in terms of subject matter, as it pertains to early design planning. Like you, I'm learning a lot of great new information, but at the end of the day, the questions could focus more on items that I didn't pay as much attention to, or be right in my wheelhouse. Though taking it 4 times is not what I had imagined, especially after passing all of my others on the first try, now it's just a matter of keep going until it's done! Thanks for the post.
