CE Exam Content
Hi,
I have my exam in about two weeks and reading through some of the posts here I am a little bit worried. This is my forth exam after passing PA, PPD and PDD. I passed PDD about 3 month ago so I do not remember the content of details so much. I only remember big pictures.
It seems like the exam has so many details and content about knowing details. I was wondering how much of the exam is geared towards detail questions rather than contract or responsibility questions. Are the questions just general detail questions or the content goes deeper and no so much general?
I would appreciate your responses here so I could know if I should spend any time on reading details considering I passed PDD 3 month ago.
Thanks,

Hi Mitra,
How did it go for you? If you don't mind sharing. I am taking the exams in the same order as you! Just passed PDD a few weeks ago (after passing PPD and PA) and taking a similar 2.5 months break before taking CE. A bit nervous this break may be too long, but I do have a fair amount of notes from those exams I can review. I am using mostly Black Spectacles, Ballast and Schiff Hardin Lectures as well as reviewing all the AIA contracts. Is there anything else you would recommend looking into? Thank you so much!

Hi Danielle,
Congratulations on your passes so far! You are on the right path. I think the order I picked worked best for me. I had a background of PPD and PDD exams which helped me with CE. No I think you will be fine. I had the same break as you and remembered as much as needed. The only review I did for details and design content was chapters 3 through 10 of the Building Constructions Illustrated and I only flipped through to remind myself of some details.
Black Spectacle is great for practice exams. I also took Designer Hacks, WEARE as extra practice exams. Ballast is a good warm for getting into the content and Ballast practice exam is great to start with without timing it just to understand the type of questions and evaluate the answers.
AIA contracts is a must so that is good. I also listened to those lectures for only AIA contract sections after I finished reading the contracts and it was a great review. I also looked at hyperfine assignments which were good practice tools too.
I think you are pretty much covering everything. There are just a few things that I mentioned above which I touched in addition to what you listed. So I hope it helps and I hope you pass it soon!
No worries! The exam is straight forward. If you passed PA, PPD and PDD, with a good studying plan, you will be fine! :)

Hi Mitra,
Thank you so much!! Good to know about BCI, I will review those chapters. Designer Hacks and WEARE practice exams sound helpful too. I will look into those! Ah great tip to use the lectures after reading through the contracts themselves. Using the lectures alongside the actual contracts makes a lot of sense.
Thanks again, looking forward to the finish! :) Will aim to keep up the steady study plan after my break. This is great advice! Really appreciate it.
