NCARB Survey came out today.
After reviewing the survey it is appalling to know that younger candidates bet 29-33 have better passing rates than older groups. In addition, retakes pass rates have a lower passing rates than the first-timers. This survey about retake rates does not make sense. Are retakers being punished with a more difficult exam the more they try?

I think the most amazing thing to come out of the survey is the gigantic difference in pass rates between african american candidates and all other candidates. 29% succes rate and over 4 years longer to pass the exams than all other candidates. 84% of architects are white people .... Wow.
Society at large has a lot to do with this for sure... Sure hope the AIA JEDI initiatives help with this....

yes Mark, some things don't change, and even if NCARB decided to increase pass rates for the certain few at a disadvantage, they will publish it like they made a huge difference. Everyone is affected some way or another. For me it is being minority, 15+ years experience in the field and those damn retakes. If retake lowers your chances that is suspicious and still wondering if NCARB exams are meant to test professional experiences why are older candidates passing rates so low compared to the younger recently graduated?
