    Avaddadi,

Absolutely!  About half of the books that are references for the ARE are fine within the last few versions - the reference list starts on Pg. 112 of the current Guidelines, it only lists years where the version of the book/document is important.  It matters for building codes and for the AIA contracts, not so much for general professional references like AGS or BCI or MEEB (or even AHPP!)

I even have a 5th edition of AGS that I use from time to time - I wouldn't recommend something nearly that old for most things because it's from the '50s-'60s, though it is useful for galvanic action and other fundamentals of materials and site topics.  As a rule of thumb, if you're within the last 3 editions, you're probably fine for the professional reference books for the ARE.

    Best,
    Ralph, the Amber Book Team
