Black Spectacles & Amber Book
Hi, I have both black spectacles and amber book to study and am feeling a little lost on how to approach study/the best way to use the two to succeed. They feel like they take the opposite approach so I wanted to get advice on how to use the two together to succeed. I just feel almost stuck between the two and like its taking me longer.

Feel free to email us at architects@amberbook.com with any questions you have as you're getting started. For most people, the ARE is fairly unlike any exam you have ever taken (and is especially unlike the college midterms and finals that most people are most recently familiar with when they're taking the ARE) - so there's a pretty large learning curve about the exam itself just to get up to speed to be able to study efficiently. Skim through NCARB's ARE Guidelines if you haven't yet - most of the people I speak with who are really struggling to understand the exams come back from reading through it with a much better grasp of what they're getting into - and how they might best approach study!
