Process of elimination works best for this question to find the answer.

The two options on the south side of the building aren't correct due to the requirement to maximize shade.

The two most northern options are too far away; the one in the NW corner is too far from the Courts, and the NE option is too far from the Main Building.

That leaves us with the two options behind the clustered vegetation. Synthesizing all the requirements of the location of the Pavilion, the one closest to the trees is too close to the Trash Receptacles, leaving only one option that is appropriate given the program requirements.

The thing to keep in mind here is that there might not be the perfect solution available among the answers, so you're looking for the solution that meets the requirements as closely as possible.

Abruno's description is great - one other note.  You describe it as a row of trees, but looking at the scale of the image, I don't think those are actually trees.  The larger circle on either end of the row may be a tree, but I think the rest of them may well just be bushes - something that wouldn't necessarily be tall enough to obstruct a view to the courts (and not all trees would necessarily obstruct a view to the courts, either - there are lots of trees you can walk under that are not a visual obstruction at head height).  All the other requirements listed are pretty prescriptive, what counts as "a" view of the volleyball courts is more subjective - especially from the information available in a site plan like that that lacks topography (possibly because the site is essentially flat, but possibly not).  The nice thing is that by the time you eliminate all the pavilion sites that definitely don't meet the prescriptive requirements, you're left with two options that have very different proximity to the volleyball courts.
