PcM Online Pro Proctor Issues
Hi All,
To the fellow exam-takers, please read my experience with the online PCM exam today (Feb 8th) and be prepared for countless issues with Prometric.
My exam is scheduled to take place at 11:30 am. After reading posts about Pro Proctor, I tried to mindful and started launching the exam 30min ahead. I used a laptop with an external monitor and webcam. The setup worked during the test run and check-in. However, when I was using the calculator, the exam crashed and gave me an error message. I tried relaunching the exam immediately but failed. The Pro Proctor app still showed me error messages when I relaunched. (REMINDER! Errors to launch Pro Proctor app also counts toward the disconnection!) Then, I had to connect Prometric technical support on its website.
After going back and forth with them several times, I was able to start the exam the second time. Unfortunately, the exam crashed again when I used the calculator. Again, I was not able to relaunch the exam. After contacting the Prometric technical support, again and again, the last proctor who assisted me told me that I can't go back and finish the exam anymore because I have more than 3 disconnections, those include the disconnections during launching the app, check-in, waiting for the proctors, and exam. In the end, I was not able to complete the exam and have to reschedule another one.
I read a lot about these issues with the online exams before and was prepared for some glitches. However, what happened today is surprisingly worse than my expectations and very discouraging.
Best,
Zhen

Zhen,
Make sure you get a refund from NCARB. There is no reason we should be paying for an exam that continues to fail to be administered correctly. NCARB, Please do something here - The amount of people who are having errors with your exams is outrageous and Corrective action needs to be taken immediately.

James,
Thank you for your comment. I contacted NCARD for a refund. However, they would not allow me to retake the exam right away, and now I have to wait for 60 more days until I can take it again. It is hard to believe that there are still so many ongoing issues with Pro Proctor after so many months.
