Thanks for the insights, it was quite helpful. Do you mind sharing which practice tests did you use?

27 days to study?? Wow good for you! I took PcM on the 23rd of November and failed :/ What materials did you use the most when you studied that were most beneficial on the exam??

This time around, I'm taking the studying one objective at a time...roughly 7-8 days per objective with a week for review (retake is January 22, my bday, LOL).

H.K. - I did a mix of Ballast, Designer Hacks, and the Amber Book. I referenced the questions on the ARE Handbook as well!

Christopher - Thank you! I would say that AHPP was the main resource that would get you the most information for the test. Familiarizing yourself with the AIA contracts help a lot too. Good luck with the retake!!

    Awesome, Thanks!

I've read on here that some people passed using the AHPP as a reference material since it's so much reading. I'm using it more as a main study material with the AIA contracts. The Handbook says the exam references the B101 and C401 but others say read the A201 as well??

    Christopher,

You do NOT need to read all pages of AHPP, this may help:

Architectural Handbook of Professional Practice (AHPP) is a very good resource for architectural practice, but it has over 1,000 pages, and can be overwhelming for people studying for the Architectural Registration Exams (ARE).

To solve this  problem, the publisher of AHPP, John Wiley & Sons, Inc., enlisted NarmourWright Design to set up a navigation document to help candidates studying for the ARE exams. Candidates for these exams can now just focus on reading the sections of the AHPP related to the division of the ARE exam they are taking. Here is a link to the navigation documents for each division of the ARE exam:

Gang: I have downloaded this document. Young Architect Academy sort of revised this document and basically tells us what pages to read exactly, "not just drop us on the page"

Thank you, though for your response.

I'd say Mara's were the key take away items.  I took LOTS of practice exams and quizzes.  Became so adept at spotting key terms on the questions that I was able to complete the first pass through the exam in about 50 minutes. Allowing me time to double back and finish off skipped questions as well as take it slow and steady for the case studies.  Had enough time left over to double check every question, adjusted three answers.

When following the AHPP Wiley study guide, for the sections that have "All" for the content. Is this suggesting to read the entire page that's listed or the entire chapter?

Arham Siddiqui - personally I used a combination of Ballast, Designer Hacks and the Amber Book.

Cody Zimmerman - Entire chapter I believe. But personally, reading large amounts of texts can get pretty dense for me. I think when reading through text materials, it's more important to skim for the main concepts and supplement your reading with another study material such as a video or a practice test!

    Cody Zimmerman,

The document you are referring to is part of the Young Architect Academy Courses and is not allowed to be shared, it is only for the person who has paid for the product.
